What you do as a Senior Geotechnisch Adviseur

Whether it's the dike reinforcement in Marken, the construction of a medical isotope reactor in Petten, the realization of the RijnlandRoute, or the construction of a pedestrian bridge in a city: these projects stand or fall with sound geotechnical advice. Advice that you provide. This makes you of great value to our clients, from municipalities and water boards to contractors and project developers. And to many colleagues, who can proceed based on your input, such as a structural engineer or project manager. You often work in teams, gaining insights into the other disciplines involved in a project. Together, you create integrated designs, visions, and advice to be proud of!

One thing is certain: your working days are varied! One moment you're advising on the future foundation of high-rise buildings in an urban area, also considering the use of sustainable materials. The next moment you're performing a stability calculation for the construction of a new flood defense. And at another time, you're explaining your findings to a client along with the project manager. We believe it's important that you enjoy your work. Therefore, you are given the space to express your specific wishes and take on projects that suit you.

In your work, you also support junior and medior advisors. For example, by sharing your knowledge with them or by checking their calculations. This helps them develop into experts in geotechnics. You will focus on the geotechnics discipline, together with about 60 other colleagues. Everyone has a fixed home base: one of our four advisory groups in Amsterdam, Amersfoort, Nijmegen, or Delft.

What characterizes our teams? The approachable and social working atmosphere. You can easily approach any colleague with your questions. Within the advisory groups, we also discuss work distribution and new projects every other week. Additionally, we regularly organize events such as our 'Geo-technical Coffee Breaks' for all geotechnicians worldwide to exchange knowledge and share project experiences.

Collaborating with colleagues and clients on challenging issues: that's what energizes you! You communicate openly about the progress and results of your work, clearly conveying geotechnical matters to those less familiar with your field. You also enjoy guiding colleagues and contributing to the further professionalization of the team. And you are strong in building and maintaining an internal and external network, so you know exactly what information to gather from whom. Furthermore, you have:

• HBO or university level education.
• At least ten years of relevant work experience.
• Preferably already knowledge of digital engineering, but in any case, the drive to develop in this area.
