Job Overview - Digital and Online Sales Manager
Reporting to the Sales Director, the Digital and Online Sales Manager is responsible for sales in the online and digital channel, including Amazon. The role demands 3-5 years of experience independently managing digital sales accounts in the publishing industry.
Responsibilities
- Manage Amazon, online retailers, and library aggregators (75%).
- Drive revenue by active account management and data analysis (15%).
- Develop annual sales plans and maintain key account relationships (10%).
- Handle advertising budget decisions and promotion strategies (10%).
- Utilize platform analytics to gain insights (10%).
- Research comparable titles for Amazon’s SOQ process (10%).
- Negotiate contract terms and manage agreements (5%).
Execution, Operations and Reporting
- Monitor orders, shipments, and account issues (10%).
- Collaborate across departments on operational requirements (5%).
- Provide demand forecasting based on trends and publicity (5%).
- Execute weekly and monthly reporting, including eBook sales (5%).
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a BA or BS degree and have a minimum of 3 years managing digital and online accounts in the publishing industry, especially on Amazon. Strong written communication, Excel skills, organizational abilities, and business acumen are essential.
Additional Information
This position is hybrid with 2-days on-site at Harvard University Press and remote work options available in select states. Pre-employment screening and a 3-month orientation are required.
