Job Description - Associate Application Developer
This full-time, fully benefited role is for the Student Information Systems team, working on the my.harvard Portal Optimization project. The Associate Application Developer is a full stack developer who writes basic code within the project's technical framework, while supporting the entire software development life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop solutions for core portal functions like Enrollment, Course Search, Advising, Grades, and more.
- Utilize Django and FastAPI frameworks for comprehensive applications/web development.
- Collaborate in a team environment to implement business solutions and documentation.
- Participate in the software development life cycle and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain coding practices and support technical solutions to meet business requirements.
Additional Information
This role is funded through 6/30/27 with potential for renewal, requires onsite presence at least 2 days per month, and involves a 90-day orientation and review period. Candidates must reside in a commutable state as defined by Harvard's remote work guidelines.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
- Experience with Django, FastAPI, or similar web development frameworks.
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA standards for web accessibility.
- Strong team performance skills and a service mindset.
