Position Overview
The Research Associate position at Harvard Business School supports faculty research across various methodologies including experimental design, data analysis, coding, IRB submissions and literature reviews. This one-year term appointment starting January 2026 requires independent judgment, intellectual curiosity, and effective communication.
Primary Duties
- Engage onsite with colleagues and stakeholders to build trust and collaborate effectively.
- Develop expertise in quantitative and qualitative research techniques, using tools like STATA, Python, R, MATLAB, Qualtrics, and MTurk.
- Collect, clean, synthesize, and analyze data to produce statistical models and academic reports.
- Manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables independently while supporting faculty reporting requirements.
- Assist in developing literature reviews, drafting academic articles, and preparing presentation materials.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, quantitative sciences, or a related field with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Prior statistical or programming experience is required along with familiarity for qualitative roles with platforms like Qualtrics and MTurk.
Additional Information
- This is a term appointment starting January 2026 through June 30, 2026, with preference for two-year commitment.
- Hybrid work arrangement: employees are expected onsite three days per week in Boston, MA.
