About the Role
The ML Scientist at Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) plays a critical role in supporting analytics functions and driving product innovation through the application of machine learning and data science techniques. This role involves inferential data science, predictive ML projects, product development, and cross-functional collaboration with technical and business teams.
What Youll Do
- Lead inferential data science and predictive ML projects.
- Extract and derive attributes from core data assets.
- Automate routine business reporting with innovative ML solutions.
- Participate as a technical resource in product development.
- Develop and maintain ML and AI infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering team on data pipelines and APIs.
What Youll Bring
At least 5 years of experience in data science, ML/AI development, or related fields with proven expertise in experimental design, causal inference, and data-driven product innovation. Excellent collaboration skills, a passion for innovation, strong Python programming skills, and familiarity with relevant tools (pandas, scikitlearn, pytorch, Langchain, etc.).
Preferred/Nice to Have
- 3+ years in Gen AI product development.
- Hands-on experience with ML infrastructure and MLOps tools (MLFlow, AWS Sagemaker).
- Experience with no-code AI tools and transitioning prototypes to production.
- Practical experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of data engineering and ETL processes.

Salary
$125,000 - $140,000 annually with additional performance based variable pay.
