Warehouse Equipment Operator

Position Summary

The Warehouse Equipment Operator at Harte Hanks is responsible for the accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product, ensuring compliance with company standards for safety, security, and productivity. This crucial role involves the safe and efficient operation of forklift equipment for locating, relocating, and stacking products within the warehouse.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Receiving/Put-Away: Safely unload inbound shipments and efficiently move products to designated storage locations. Accurately stack and store merchandise in appropriate areas.
• Loading: Efficiently transfer products from staging and/or storage areas into trailers for outbound shipment.
• Order Pulls: Accurately and efficiently pull products for fulfillment or shipping orders.
• Quality: Verify that all inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage.
• Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate all required material handling equipment, including forklifts.
• Inventory Management: Verify rack and row locations within the warehouse and perform physical and cycle counts using the available inventory management system reports.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and procedures, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions to the Supervisor/Lead.
• Pre-Operation Inspection: Conduct pre-operation safety inspections of material handling equipment and report any unsafe conditions.
• Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Complete assigned sanitation duties.
• Security: Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and comply with OSHA standards.

Other Duties

• Charge forklift battery as needed.
• Participate in physical inventories.
• Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, stacking, and re-stacking tasks as required.
• Repair pallets when necessary.
• Keep systems properly updated and accurate.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Skills

• High School diploma.
• Ability to operate a forklift; forklift certification preferred.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• 6 to 12 months of relevant experience.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
