Overview

Harris Global Business Services (GBS) is seeking a Corporate Development Associate to join the Harris India M&A team. The role is focused on initiating and fostering relationships with company owners, qualifying businesses, and setting the stage for successful acquisitions in India.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of M&A, you will drive acquisition activity by researching and engaging with founders and executives of software companies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Researching and identifying vertical market software companies aligned with our thesis.
  • Building and nurturing long-term relationships with founders, executives, and key stakeholders.
  • Managing an outreach schedule and meeting targets set by the team leader.
  • Maintaining active relationships with bankers and ecosystem players to enhance deal-sourcing.
  • Supporting the M&A team in qualifying potential targets and moving opportunities through the pipeline.
  • Traveling domestically to meet stakeholders when required.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 4 years in Business Development (IT) or M&A deal origination, has strong interpersonal and research skills, and a basic understanding of M&A processes. Key qualifications include:

  • Proven experience in business development or M&A origination.
  • Passion for relationship management and lead generation.
  • Basic financial literacy and understanding of M&A principles.
  • Comfort with cold-calling and persistence in achieving targets.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is preferred.
