Quality Receiving Inspector

At Harmar Mobility, we lift lives! Be a part of this exciting team as a key member of the Quality Assurance group. You will interface with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure materials and products received conform to specifications.
  • Inspect incoming purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials using precision measuring devices.
  • Perform first article inspections as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration is current.
  • Identify and quarantine nonconforming products.
  • Assist with management of NCRs for Returned to Vendor (RTV).
  • Move items to designated locations post-inspection (may require lifting up to 50 pounds).
  • Develop improved quality systems for incoming inspections.
  • Keep accurate records for items received and products returned to vendors.

Requirements

  • Intermediate level computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Capable of operating a powered hand truck and/or pallet jack.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand measurements and tolerances.
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in quality management systems and inspections.
  • Experience in receiving, warehouse, packing, or production environments.
  • Knowledge of metal and fabricated components.
  • Skilled in using calibrated measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, microphotometers).
  • Familiarity with computer aided measurement tools such as a CMM.
  • Willingness to cross-train and inspect in all aspects of Quality.
  • Strong time management and detail orientation.
  • High school graduate or equivalent work experience.

Work Environment & Hours

This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Candidates must be able to stand for 10 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds. Work hours are 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday-Thursday) with some overtime on Fridays.
