Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Entertainment, the Production Manager oversees the production of entertainment, stage operations, showroom operations, and related entertainment venues/areas such as lounges. Responsibilities include building business/market share by utilizing brand amenity programs, tracking event budgets and contractual agreements, and scheduling Production staff, Audio, Lighting, Video, Stagehands, Riggers, Runners, and other technical roles for each event. The role also involves assisting in the development and administration of capital, operating, and staffing budgets, developing policies and procedures for the Entertainment & Promotions Department, and providing long-range plans. Key duties also include implementing and overseeing accurate inventory control for all entertainment equipment, ensuring accurate accounting of labor and related costs for all acts, and maintaining professional relationships with all artists. This role involves direct supervision, including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, appraising, and supervising assigned personnel. Knowledge of Hard Rock policies, procedures, and operations is required, as is promoting positive public/employee relations and maintaining a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment. The role requires the ability to read and comprehend industry periodicals, write detailed reports, memos, or letters, possess strong communication and presentation skills, and deal with complex problems. Proficiency with department-specific computer programs is necessary. Physical demands include periods of sitting, writing, standing, lifting (10-30 lbs), walking, and keyboarding. Working conditions involve a hectic, fast-paced, often crowded, noisy, and sometimes smoke-filled entertainment environment.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent is required, along with three (3) to five (5) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three (3) to five (5) years in live entertainment in a large venue or touring experience is preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities. Bilingual in French (written and oral) is an asset.
  • Must be able to analyze Marketing and Promotions data.
  • Ability to function in non-standard situations where some judgment must be exercised.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
  • General computer troubleshooting skills are preferred.
  • Must be able to continuously maneuver around the office and property, often standing for long hours.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • The ability to push, pull and lift 10-30 lbs. and bend, stoop, and reach.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Ability to obtain impressions through the eyes.
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  • Ability to occasionally move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds / 25 kilograms.
  • Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environments.
  • Ability to operate potentially hazardous equipment.

Working Conditions

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment, but there will be times when you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.
