We are seeking an experienced Veritas NetBackup L3 Administrator with over 8 years of experience in backup administration. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of backup and recovery solutions, specifically with Veritas NetBackup, and will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing backup systems to ensure data integrity and availability. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer Veritas NetBackup environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Implement and maintain backup policies, schedules, and procedures to meet organizational data protection requirements.
• Monitor backup jobs and troubleshoot issues to ensure successful completion and data recovery.
• Perform regular system audits and health checks to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement backup solutions that align with business needs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and other IT staff regarding backup administration.
• Document processes, procedures, and configurations to maintain knowledge sharing and compliance.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in backup and recovery technologies.

Mandatory Skills

• Proven experience in backup administration, specifically with Veritas NetBackup.
• Strong understanding of backup and recovery concepts, including disaster recovery planning.
• Experience with troubleshooting and resolving backup-related issues.
• Familiarity with storage technologies and data management best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud backup solutions and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation of backup tasks.
• Certifications related to Veritas NetBackup or backup technologies.
• Experience with other backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in backup administration, with a focus on Veritas NetBackup.
• Proven track record of managing complex backup environments and projects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
