Social Media Manager Sport & Sponsoring

Sport inspires millions, creates emotional moments, and we are right in the middle of it. As the main sponsor of Hamburger SV (men, women, youth, YoungFans, as well as athletics and eSports), the German Golf Association, and the HanseMerkur VALORANT Challengers DACH, the most important league in German-speaking countries, and our own eSports team, we are active in many sports. We also engage in Padel, Ski Jumping, and other disciplines as a sponsor.

Your Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for your own channels related to our sponsoring activities. This primarily includes:
• Development of creative content formats and storylines for Reels, Stories, photos, and text posts around our sports partnerships
• Planning, implementation, and editing of video content, interviews, and behind-the-scenes at partners' locations (e.g., at games, tournaments, or events)
• Conducting internal shoots with HanseMerkur employees related to sponsoring activities
• Responsible handling of external competitions
• Community management and active interaction with fans
• Analysis of the performance of our content and further development of formats
• Active observation of the sporting situation of partners to create and publish suitable content
• Exchange with clubs, associations, athletes, agencies, and internal teams (especially Sponsoring, Social Media, Advertising, and Brand)
• Close collaboration with external video service providers: creating concepts, briefings, and organizing joint shoots

Your Profile

• Completed degree or training in the field of sports, media, communication, marketing, or social media
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in social media management or content production, ideally in sponsoring communication or at club/association level
• Great interest in sports. Ideally, you are familiar with football, golf, eSports, and other sports
• Confident and professional demeanor in dealing with professional athletes, officials, and partners, as well as experience in conducting interviews
• Experience in planning and creating social media content
• Knowledge in video shooting and video editing
• Confident use of Instagram and X and their Ads Managers
• Enjoy being in front of the camera yourself
• Creativity and a feel for trends in sports and on social media
• Structured way of working and initiative
• Willingness to also work on-site at sports events (sometimes in the evenings or on weekends)
• Fluent German language skills
