Overview
Handshake is seeking experienced energy industry professionals to contribute to AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. This role is designed for individuals with hands-on experience in energy project estimation, construction planning, and solar design. You will leverage your expertise to evaluate AI-generated content, providing critical feedback to enhance AI's understanding of project development workflows and cost estimation practices.
This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be undertaken alongside other commitments.

This project requires you to use your professional experience and practical knowledge of industry tools to generate expert-level training data and assess AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance. No prior AI experience is necessary.
This is a fully remote position with a flexible, asynchronous schedule. There is no minimum hour requirement, and most contributors work approximately 5–20 hours per week on active projects. Placement is based on current project needs, with consideration for future opportunities.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in energy project estimation, pre-construction, or solar design.
- Relevant roles include Estimator, Project Engineer, Pre-construction Manager, or Solar Design Engineer, or equivalent positions within the energy industry.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: Bluebeam Revu, RSMeans, Aurora Solar.
- Strong written communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams.
