Location: Remote (US)
Salary: $190-230k base + RSUs
What you'll be doing:
- Owning key components of core discovery services, with a focus on maps, location surfaces, and directory search experiences
- Collaborating cross-functionally with UX designers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver user-centered solutions
- Prioritizing top-tier user experiences through feedback loops and data-driven methodologies
- Navigating the full SDLC with agile methodologies and CI/CD best practices throughout
What you'll need to have:
- 6+ years of experience in modern software development with a track record of scalable, maintainable systems
- Strong expertise in system design, architecture, Node.js, and TypeScript
- Production experience with location-based systems, geospatial data, geo indexing, proximity queries, and mapping surfaces. This is the primary need for the role
- Experience building search systems including relevance, ranking, and Elasticsearch or similar for a consumer product strongly preferred
- Strong data fundamentals across PostgreSQL and MongoDB including indexing and query performance
- Startup or fast-moving environment experience
- Enthusiasm for AI tools and a willingness to adopt emerging best practices quickly
