Azure Data Engineer Consultant at Halian
Halian is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer Consultant to provide specialized consultancy services for complex Data Engineering projects. This pivotal role focuses on leveraging strong expertise in Business Intelligence (BI) implementation within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, covering crucial areas like data ingestion, storage, processing, and security. You will be instrumental in guiding projects from analysis and design through to implementation, ensuring best practices and robust data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical consultancy services for Data Engineering initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong technological competence in Business Intelligence (BI) implementation projects on Microsoft Azure.
- Analyze, design, and implement solutions for data ingestion, data storage, data processing, and data security in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
- Manage and monitor data ingestion, storage, and processing workflows.
- Develop and maintain data storage, processing, and security frameworks in adherence to industry best practices.
- Actively participate and interact in technical working groups and meetings with project teams, developers, stakeholders, and non-expert users.
- Draft and review both technical and functional/non-functional specifications, collaborating closely with Enterprise Architecture and Operations teams.
- Engage in technical discussions with project teams, developers, stakeholders, and non-technical users to ensure alignment and understanding.
Education
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification from at least 3 successful years of post-high school education in Data Science (EQF level 6) is required. Alternatively, candidates with 2 years of professional experience for each missing year of required studies, in addition to the professional experience outlined below, will be considered.
Languages
Candidates must possess a very good knowledge of English (Level C1 – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Experience
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience is essential, including:
- 8 years working specifically within the Business Intelligence field.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
Proven experience is also required in:
- BI for process-driven applications.
- Data Governance frameworks or equivalent.
- Adhering to Azure Security guidelines.
