Overview

As a Senior Claims Business Analyst at Hagerty, you will support the claims organization by mapping processes, gathering and documenting business requirements, and ensuring that solutions deliver measurable value. This role serves as a bridge between claims operations, internal teams, and external partners to enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.

What You’ll Do

Project & Analyst Oversight:

  • Manage analysts and contractors across the claims domain.
  • Ensure business priorities are accurately reflected in work requests.
  • Review deliverables for alignment with claims objectives and quality standards.
  • Coordinate across teams to resolve questions, defects, and requirements.

Business Requirements & Process Support:

  • Collaborate with operations, customer service, and stakeholders to identify needs.
  • Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Support creation and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Maintain thorough requirements documentation for future reference.
  • Ensure processes and systems comply with regulatory and industry standards.

New Functionality & Enhancements:

  • Intake and prioritize new business functionalities and features.
  • Manage enhancements through implementation and release phases.
  • Support design and documentation of validation rules, financial controls, audit controls, and reporting needs.
  • Assist in cross-team investigations and issue escalations.

Vendor & Partner Collaboration:

  • Maintain relationships with carriers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Act as a point of contact for vendor workflows, escalations, and audit support.
  • Coordinate external engagements to ensure timely issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven business analyst experience in insurance or claims industry.
  • Strong knowledge of claims processes and insurance products.
  • Experience managing requirements, workflows, and documentation on large-scale projects.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across multiple levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business value.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
