Role Overview

This Staff Software Engineer role will shape the future of HackerOne’s bug bounty program platform. You will lead complex, high-impact projects that integrate human ingenuity with AI-driven automation, delivering scalable and intelligent solutions for customers and security researchers.

What You Will Do

  • Lead design and delivery of secure, high-performance features.
  • Work hands-on with systems automating triage workflows and AI insights.
  • Translate customer and researcher insights into product improvements.
  • Mentor teams and drive cross-squad technical initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers.

Onboarding & Growth

In your first 30, 60, and 90 days and beyond, you will:

  • Onboard to the technology stack and integrate with your squad.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and start project involvement.
  • Define strategic problem areas and drive solution execution.
  • Identify high-impact projects aligning with HackerOne’s mission.

Who Are You

You are a tech-savvy leader with 10+ years of experience in software development in a modern SaaS environment. You excel in languages like JavaScript, Python, or Ruby, possess strong SQL and cloud expertise (AWS preferred), and have hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as ReactJS. You are passionate about automation, scalability, and AI integration.
