What The Role Entails
You will own the strategy and execution for recommendations and discovery, acting as the foremost expert in the company. This involves:
- Defining the one-year horizon for product personalization.
- Partnering closely with the ML Engineering team, influencing model behavior and technical direction.
- Setting the quality bar for ML-powered experiences and making critical tradeoffs.
- Raising the company's understanding and judgment of ML investments.
- Operating as an AI-enabled builder, leveraging AI tools for prototyping and analysis.
- Mentoring and developing other Product Managers, contributing to hiring and team growth.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned product leader with significant experience in ML-powered consumer products, specifically owning recommendation, personalization, or discovery surfaces at scale. You have held Senior PM, Staff PM, GPM, or comparable Lead roles and are motivated by the opportunity to shape an early-stage ML journey.
What You Bring
- Deep B2C ML product experience with shipped recommendation, search, ranking, or personalization systems.
- Strong technical fluency with the full ML lifecycle (data pipelines, feature engineering, training, deployment, monitoring).
- A builder's instinct for early-stage ML, understanding when rules or guardrails are appropriate.
- Strategic foresight to articulate and execute on a personalization maturity curve.
- Deep customer expertise, regularly engaging with users to inform decisions.
- Commercial ownership, understanding business drivers like GMV, ad revenue, and retention.
- Extreme clarity in communication and thought.
- Daily practice with AI tools for prototyping, analysis, and data querying.
- Adaptability, humility, and a bias for action.

- Background in e-commerce or marketplaces.
- Experience building or scaling an ML personalization function from scratch.
Compensation & Benefits
