Consultant Specialist GCP at HSBC
HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Consultant Specialist. This role focuses on automating the CI/CD pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team, ensuring service resilience, and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate with central teams and implement DevOps/Automation on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to resolve blockers for cloud migration and adoption. Responsibilities include managing deployments, patch management, infrastructure repavement, maintaining SLAs, troubleshooting workflows, and ensuring systems are operational. The role requires working in a globally distributed team and a willingness to adapt and learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team.
- Ensure service resilience, sustainability, and recovery time objectives (RTOs) are met.
- Collaborate with central teams (architecture, security, engineering, networks).
- Implement DevOps and Automation on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) according to system requirements.
- Resolve technical and process blockers for cloud migration and adoption.
- Manage deployments, patch management, and infrastructure repavement.
- Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs), troubleshoot workflows, and ensure system uptime.
- Work effectively in a team located across multiple countries/regions.
- Adapt and learn new technologies and processes.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience.
- Experience in production support, with flexibility for odd hours.
- Experience in large-scale, complex global programs.
- Coding experience in GCP programming, preferably Python.
- Proficiency in BigQuery SQL.
- Good knowledge of Containers, Docker, and Kubernetes (preferred).
- Knowledge of DevOps processes and automation (e.g., Jenkins pipelines).
- Familiarity with GCP services such as BigQuery, Bigtable, Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub (preferred).
- Experience with ITIL framework (incident, problem, change management).
