About the Role: British English Generalist
hackajob is partnering with Mercor to find exceptional tech professionals for a short-term project with a leading AI lab. This role specifically seeks native British English speakers who possess a native British English accent.
Role Responsibilities
- Record audio snippets of English sentences.
- Evaluate the naturalness and grammar of written English statements.
- Assess correctness of spoken English recordings.
Payment Structure
Please note that the stated hourly range for this project is an estimate. Actual payment will be calculated on a per-audio-task-completed basis, with each task estimated to take approximately 1-2 minutes. Strong performers will have opportunities for promotion to a reviewer role, which comes with a higher hourly rate.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Native-Level Proficiency: Native fluency in British English, typically acquired by being born and raised in England.
- Cultural Expertise: A deep understanding of British cultural norms, traditions, and communication etiquette.
- Audio Requirements: Capability to listen to and record high-quality audio content, ensuring a quiet recording environment, clear pronunciation, and output in a lossless audio format.
Nice to Have:
- Tech-Savviness: Comfort and proficiency in using virtual platforms and various digital tools.
- Assessment Knowledge: Familiarity with language testing methodologies and evaluation frameworks.
Project Details
This is a pilot project anticipated to last for one week. There is a strong potential for top performers to be offered future, longer-term audio work engagements. The project is expected to commence on Monday, February 23, 2026. You will operate within a structured project environment, equipped with clear goals and necessary tools.
