About the Role
The Project Officer – Civil Projects role is a temporary full-time position with a local government organisation until September 2026. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will assist in delivering construction and maintenance activities across the State, Regional and Local road network.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Capital Works construction and maintenance projects
- Manage and oversee civil contractors (roads & drainage)
- Coordinate council contracts and procurement processes
- Ensure projects are delivered within time, cost, and quality constraints
- Undertake stockpile inspections and monitoring
- Provide leadership to operational staff and specialist providers
- Support line marking activities using internal and external resources
- Engage with customers to resolve service issues
Additional Information
Night and weekend shifts may be required in line with operational needs.
What We’re Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Civil Construction, Construction Management or significant industry experience is required. Applicants should demonstrate experience in managing civil contractors, strong ability in reading and interpreting construction drawings, engineering reports and specifications, and proven project delivery experience. A valid Workcover General Construction Induction (White Card) and a Current Class C Driver’s Licence are essential.
