Job Details

Main Purpose

The SCADA Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting SCADA system issues across various industries, communicating with support teams, and directing day-to-day engineering activities. The role requires expertise in SCADA server stacks, redundancy configurations, field equipment communication protocols, and excellent customer interfacing skills.

Essential Functions

  • Identify, analyze, and repair SCADA software issues across multiple industries.
  • Travel to site locations for installations, fixes, patches, and training.
  • Oversee a team developing SCADA applications using Wonderware or site-specific systems.
  • Conduct site visits to determine technical requirements and develop solutions.
  • Engage with clients and internal teams to produce functional specifications.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, fabrication drawings, and P&ID’s.
  • Develop and program PLC and HMI/SCADA applications using various technologies including Allen Bradley PLCs, Schneider Electric, Microsoft SQL, C#, Visual Basic, and more.
  • Troubleshoot communication networks including Ethernet IP and Remote I/O.
  • Perform both in-house and onsite testing with commissioning support.
  • Generate project documentation using standard company formats and participate in design reviews.
  • Provide on-call customer support when needed under support contracts.

Requirements

Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds routinely and occasionally 50-75 pounds.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related field, 2+ years of relevant software development experience, 1+ year in field installation and troubleshooting SCADA/PLC systems, ability to travel 25-50%, U.S. Citizenship, passing background checks and drug screens.

Desirable Experience & Certifications

  • Experience with programming PLCs (Allen Bradley, Schneider, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Dell or Stratus servers and HMI systems
  • Experience in Government Contracting
  • Certifications in Wonderware System Platform, Intouch, EcoStruxure Control Expert, RS Logix, Cisco Networking, and additional security certifications (to be obtained within 6 months of hire)
