Position Overview

The GIS Analyst II at Gulf Interstate Engineering Company will coordinate all GIS activities including gathering, creating, converting, and analyzing spatial data using GIS programs. The role integrates information from various departments and customizes user interfaces with application software compatible with the GIS system.

Essential Functions

  • Lead GIS efforts for engineering FEED and design projects.
  • Perform advanced spatial analysis and manage GIS databases.
  • Develop and implement GIS tools and quality control procedures.
  • Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Create presentation quality maps and conduct geospatial analysis.
  • Prepare in-house training material and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive GIS experience with 5+ years as a GIS Analyst.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using ArcGIS 10.0 or higher.
  • In-depth pipeline industry knowledge.
  • Advanced proficiency with ESRI Desktop products, GIS/CAD, and graphics drawing applications.
  • Experience in alignment sheet generation and familiarity with FERC, PODS/APDM, and HCA analysis.
  • Knowledge of GIS automation techniques using Python, ArcObjects, model builder, or VBA/VBScript.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS server, SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • GISP and/or Esri Certification is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and customer focus.

Work Environment

Normal office conditions with frequent sitting and computer operation. Physical demands include occasional exertion up to 10 pounds.
