Position Summary
The Technology Product Owner at Guild Mortgage is responsible for managing the development and delivery of various initiatives supporting the IT Roadmap, specifically for the Enterprise reporting team and its internal business partners. This role involves close collaboration with the product team (business analysts, developers, testers) and cross-functional teams to define the product vision, business and technology roadmap, features, and user stories. The Product Owner, Technology oversees and prioritizes the product backlog based on business value and customer feedback, ensuring that the product meets quality standards, business objectives, and delivers value within resource and budgetary constraints. This position primarily supports enterprise reporting, analytics, dashboards, and data delivery solutions vital for operational, financial, compliance, and decision-making processes. The Product Owner will partner closely with internal business stakeholders to ensure reporting products are accurate, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs.
Compensation
This is an exempt position with a targeted annual salary range of $124,000 to $181,000. Compensation at Guild Mortgage is influenced by factors such as local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and geographical location.
Essential Functions
- Partner with Enterprise Reporting leadership and internal business stakeholders to define and prioritize reporting, dashboard, and data delivery initiatives.
- Ensure reporting solutions meet business requirements for accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and usability.
- Define and validate product requirements, features/epics, and user stories, ensuring clarity, conciseness, and testability.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog, aligning it with the product vision and roadmap, and reflecting customer needs.
- Work with the product team and business owners to plan and execute product development sprints and releases, providing guidance and support.
- Review and accept product deliverables, providing feedback to the development team to ensure acceptance criteria and quality standards are met.
- Manage the product lifecycle to ensure quality standards, compliance, and business objectives are met, delivering value to customers and stakeholders.
- Responsible for the successful execution of the current sprint and preparing for the upcoming sprint.
- Accountable for consistently delivering product sprint goals.
- Establish team velocity to provide insights on forecasting future efforts.
- Work with BA/Dev/QA Leads to ensure all disciplines act cohesively to meet sprint goals.
- Manage sprint priorities in accordance with the product roadmap.
- Proactively engage with business stakeholders to support new feature rollouts.
- Break down work into consumable parts for regular demos with key stakeholders.
- Identify future dependencies and plan for them.
- Manage sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Actively communicate to key stakeholders when sprint goals are in jeopardy.
- Proactively remove blockers.
- Create facts-based, metrics-driven project dashboards for all technology workstreams for weekly progress visibility.
- Partner with the EPMO reporting team to improve Jira usage as the source of truth.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science, business, logistics, or a related field preferred; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum five years' experience as a product owner, product manager, business analyst, or similar role in a digital product development environment.
- PMI, PMP, PMI ACP, or CSM certification or equivalent preferred. ITIL knowledge preferred.
- Experience supporting enterprise reporting, business intelligence, analytics platforms, or data-focused technology teams.
- Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, tools, and best practices, such as Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Trello.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills; ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and manage conflicting expectations.
- Ability to think strategically, creatively, and analytically; translate customer needs into product requirements and user stories.
- Ability to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs and provide value.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle models and expert knowledge of Agile and traditional Waterfall project management principles.
- Extensive experience working with vendors and offshore resources.
- Proficient technical background to lead development teams and objectively evaluate complex product risks and issues.
- Experience with Release Management, ensuring business engagement for new features and awareness of upcoming deployments.
- Strong Jira knowledge preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.

Indirect reports typically range from 10-15 individuals.
Requirements
- Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
