As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Guidewire’s SaaS analytics and microservices. This is an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with automation, contribute to the development of advanced testing frameworks, and help shape the future of insurance technology. What you’ll do
- Design and develop portfolio test automation for end-to-end customer scenarios, ensuring comprehensive coverage and reliability.
- Build and enhance automation frameworks and tools to support continuous integration and deployment of microservices and analytics SaaS solutions.
- Spend over 90% of your time hands-on with automation, driving efficiency and scalability in testing processes.
- Test and automate distributed systems, focusing on scalability, availability, data security, and fault tolerance.
- Develop and implement test strategies for REST APIs, leveraging tools such as Karate and Cucumber.
- Contribute to UI automation using Selenium WebDriver, TestCafe, or Playwright.
- Work with containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Develop and leverage AI agents for advanced testing and analysis, supporting Guidewire’s commitment to responsible AI adoption.

What you’ll bring
Required
- Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant work experience in software test automation.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or any scripting language.
- Experience with serialization frameworks such as Avro or Parquet.
- Understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consistency, availability, durability, reliability, and consensus algorithms.
- Expertise in REST API testing and automation, preferably using Karate or Cucumber.
- Familiarity with UI automation tools (Selenium WebDriver, TestCafe, Playwright).
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Analytical mindset with a strong bias toward automation and continuous improvement.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and a passion for innovation.
Preferred
- Practical experience in developing and leveraging GenAI or AI agents for testing.
- Experience in the insurance or SaaS domain.
