Job Description
Summary
The Public Relations Specialist at Guidewire Software supports public relations and communications initiatives across North America, Latin America, and APAC. This role involves engaging diverse media channels to amplify Guidewire’s voice and brand, enhancing its public image, and supporting sales efforts. This is achieved through consistent, clear communication of corporate messaging, product updates, and customer success stories to target audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full press release lifecycle for select releases, including writing, editing, securing internal/customer approvals, and coordinating distribution.
- Own and nurture specific media relationships to drive consistent pitching and earned media coverage.
- Research and vet incoming PR opportunities, providing actionable recommendations.
- Proactively identify, manage, and maintain award and editorial opportunities.
- Support and promote the Guidewire Innovation Award program.
- Develop and maintain high-quality media lists.
- Produce comprehensive coverage and tracking reports for key announcements.
- Provide regular metrics reporting and performance analysis.
- Serve as Marketing contact for external-facing customer logo updates, in cooperation with Customer Success, Sales, and Legal teams.
- Support communications activities related to Guidewire-hosted and industry events.
- Assist with PR and marketing initiatives, as needed.
Reporting to the Public Relations Manager, this full-time role is available at the San Mateo, CA headquarters or as a remote position.
Qualifications
- Two to five years of Public Relations experience or an equivalent role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.).
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong technology skills.
- Enjoy multi-tasking and working in a team environment.
- College degree.
- B2B storytelling experience and/or PR agency experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $78,000 - $118,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company-sponsored retirement plan. Additionally, some roles may qualify for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long-term incentive awards, contingent on company and employee performance.
