GuidePoint Security provides trusted cybersecurity expertise, solutions and services that help organizations make better decisions and minimize risk. The Security Tools Engineer TS/SCI role is 100% onsite in Northern VA and requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Role Description

As a Network Defense Linux Systems Engineer on the Network Defense Team, you will integrate advanced Linux systems into our cybersecurity framework. Your expertise in Linux, shell scripting and system automation will be key in maintaining and enhancing system security and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement shell scripts to automate maintenance tasks.
  • Configure and manage system logging including remote logging for security monitoring.
  • Establish and maintain networking services with firewall and SELinux policies.
  • Configure local storage with partitions and logical volumes.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain systems with software updates and core services management.
  • Troubleshoot networking issues using tools like tcpdump and Traceroute.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 7+ years experience in cybersecurity, network operations, or related fields.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance (with CI Poly requirement within 6 months).
  • DOD 8570 IAT II certifications (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent).
  • Proven Linux system administration and shell scripting experience.
  • Familiarity with AWS, automation tools such as Ansible and version control systems.
