What You Will Do
We are seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of modern healthcare data platforms that enable trusted analytics and advanced analytics use cases. This role is suited for a candidate with a data science background and proven data architecture and technical delivery leadership who is able to guide client and internal teams from problem framing through scalable implementation.Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Solution Design
- Translate business and analytics requirements into implementable architecture designs in partnership with engineers, analysts, and data scientists.
- Design and deliver modern healthcare data architectures (e.g., data lake, lakehouse, cloud data warehouse) to support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases.
- Develop data models supporting clinical, claims, operational, and financial analytics.
- Work in Azure and AWS environments to develop pipelines, data flows, data lakes and data lakehouses.
Data Integration, Analytics & Advanced Analytics Enablement
- Lead design and implementation of data ingestion and transformation pipelines, including batch and near‑real‑time integrations from EHRs, claims systems, and third‑party sources.
- Partner with analytics engineers and data scientists to ensure platforms support advanced analytics and machine learning workflows.
- Drive adoption of scalable, repeatable delivery patterns (e.g., curated datasets, shared metrics layers, standardized pipelines).
Data Governance, Quality & Trust
- Lead implementation of data governance capabilities, including metadata, lineage, classification, and access controls.
- Define and oversee data quality and certification approaches to ensure datasets are trusted and reusable.
- Ensure solutions align with healthcare privacy and compliance requirements, including HIPAA‑aligned handling and auditability.
Client Engagement & Collaboration
- Lead client workshops to gather requirements, review designs, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Develop client‑facing deliverables, including architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and implementation roadmaps.
- Collaborate across clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
Practice Building
- Support proposal development and business development activities (solutioning, estimating, content development, reusable assets).
- Build and maintain internal accelerators and templates (e.g., reference architectures, governance playbooks, data product patterns).
- Support development of data integration, interoperability, and data modernization solutions for Guidehouse leadership.
- Develop points of view in the space of data modernization and interoperability to support sales and delivery growth.
What You Will Need
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.Experience
- 7-10 years of experience in data, analytics, or solution architecture roles, including experience in healthcare environments (payer, provider, life sciences, or health associations).
- Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery for data architecture or analytics programs in healthcare.
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of:
- Data architecture patterns (lakehouse/warehouse), data modeling, and data product design
- SQL and data transformation approaches (ETL/ELT)
- Cloud data platforms (Azure and/or AWS) and cloud data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake or equivalent)
- Ability to translate client objectives into clear, implementable technical approaches.
- Experience leading workstreams and mentoring team members in a consulting environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR/HL7) and/or common healthcare data models (e.g., OMOP).
- Familiarity with emerging AI approaches and the ability to assess appropriate use based on client maturity.
- Experience leading or contributing to applied machine learning (ML) or advanced analytics solutions, including segmentation, prediction, forecasting, or pattern detection.
- Strong understanding of how ML and AI capabilities are enabled by modern data architectures, including curated data layers, feature readiness, and governance.
- Familiarity with the ML model development lifecycle, including problem framing, data preparation, model selection, validation, and performance monitoring (hands‑on model development a plus, but not required).
- Experience applying responsible AI and governance principles, including transparency, explainability, and appropriate use in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare).
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $118,000.00-$196,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.What We Offer
