Job Description
Cheminformatics Researcher
Guidehouse is seeking a Cheminformatics Researcher to join their federal client's Computational Toxicology Consultation Service team. This role supports rapid and precise regulatory decision-making through chemical analysis.
What You’ll Do
- Lead clear and accurate communication of project plans, findings, and results to stakeholders and collaborators.
- Establish time estimates and resources required for project execution and delivery.
- Acquire and assemble data for expert review of chemical models, process chemical structures, and generate chemistry model predictions.
- Determine probable in-vitro toxicity, animal toxicity, or adverse human clinical effects of approximately 10 chemicals per week.
- Catalog and record experimental data for sharing and publication, maintaining detailed methods and procedures for reproduction.
- Improve the performance of chemistry models for future regulatory research project assessments.
- Attend relevant applied regulatory science and drug innovation department meetings.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a relevant area of study.
- 0-1 years of experience with data collection, analysis, and writing scientific manuscripts and technical reports.
- Experience in organic chemistry, cheminformatics, and chemical drawing for regulatory research project assessments.
- Ability to provide analysis of toxicology evaluations and report results.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Understanding of analysis results, targets, project plans, and timelines.
- Authorized to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
- Ability to Obtain Public Trust clearance.
What Would Be Nice To Have
- Master’s degree in chemistry or studies in pharmaceutical science and toxicology.
- Experience with chemical drawing tools and QSAR analyses.
- Experience with CASE Ultra, Leadscope Model Applier/Enterprise, and Derek/Sarah Nexus computational toxicology software.
- Experience with public health agencies such as HHS, FDA, NIH and CDC.
