Role Overview: Senior Cloud Engineer

The Enterprise Software Cloud Engineering team is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to enhance production operations and observability. You will work with tools including Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, AWS, Java, Python, Ruby, and databases like MongoDB, Postgres, and Oracle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and release processes for zero-downtime deployments.
  • Lead infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Rafay, and Opsera.
  • Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters in AWS/GCP ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
  • Partner with development teams to implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions (e.g., New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
  • Improve operational excellence through cost optimization, reliability, and incident response strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define SLIs/SLOs and enhance system observability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to refining DevOps best practices.
  • Maintain a 2-hour overlap with the US team in Pacific Hours and adapt to flexible work timings.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Deep experience with public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), including networking, IAM, compute, and storage.
  • Extensive experience managing on-premise systems, including VMware, Linux environments, and shell scripting.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Proficient in CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (Git).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) and scripting (Python, Bash, or Go).
  • Strong Linux administration expertise (RHEL, CentOS).
  • Experience in supporting and scaling production systems and participating in on-call rotations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate across diverse teams.
