Position Overview
Under the direction of the Front of the House (FoH) Manager, the Casino Porter/Floor is responsible for assisting service staff in maintaining the buffet, restaurant, and bar areas at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino. This role places a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service, as the Porter will be dealing directly with guests. Adherence to all casino policies and procedures is required at all times, along with taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of guests and maintaining safe work practices.
Responsibilities Include
- Provide excellent guest service consistent with Company's core service standards and brand attributes.
- Assist the Servers in setting and resetting the tables during busy service periods.
- Stock and re-stock stations with dry goods, glassware, dinnerware, and silverware.
- Fill and replenish ice tubs in the buffet, blaze, and stage bar areas.
- Clean and wipe down all assigned areas at the end of the day.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of Blaze Restaurant, the buffet, and buffet serving stations.
- Assist the bartenders with stocking alcohol and beer.
- Bring clean glassware to the bar areas.
- Assist servers and bartenders in other areas when and where required.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all guests, food and beverage staff, and other casino departmental staff.
- Communicate any issues or needs of guests appropriately to management or co-worker(s).
- Report to work on time and in a clean uniform, maintaining proper hygiene and grooming at all times.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
- Attend meetings and training programs when required.
Education And Experience
- Requires a high school diploma.
- Specific Casino food and beverage experience would be an asset.
- A valid Alberta Pro Serve Certificate is required.

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to promote and deliver impeccable service and standards.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team-oriented environment, and be able to function independently.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding area and be familiar with a high-volume, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Must be available for shift-work and be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be aware of and able to work in a smoking environment.
- May require lifting weight of up to approximately 50 lbs.
