About the Union Warehouse Material Handler Role at Graybar

As a Union Warehouse Material Handler at Graybar, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of products. This position involves the full lifecycle of warehouse inventory management: receiving, storing, selecting, packing, and shipping. Utilizing a Warehouse Management System, technology is an essential component of this job. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts, to manage inventory effectively.
  • Receive and meticulously store incoming materials, adhering strictly to established warehouse management system processes.
  • Accurately select, pack, and palletize shipments to meet order requirements and ensure timely delivery.
  • Sort and pack less-than-truckload shipments and regularly conduct cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, strictly following all safety procedures and performing daily safety inspections to ensure a secure workplace.

What Graybar Looks For

  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of a demanding warehouse environment, including lifting various loads, cutting wire, climbing ladders, and remaining mobile in diverse temperatures. Must successfully pass pre-employment physical testing.
  • Minimum age of 18 required.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Preferably 2+ years of experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Prior experience using a warehouse management system in a large warehouse environment is highly preferred.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a consistent schedule: Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 10:00pm.

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this position is $18.50 per hour, with potential for higher rates based on experience.

Additional Requirements

Steel-toed boots are required for this role.
