About the Restaurant Manager Role
As a Restaurant Manager for Grand Circle Crewing, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional beverage and dining service for our travelers on European River ships, ensuring all experiences align with Grand Circle Cruise Line (GCCL) standards. This role is crucial in fostering a positive work environment and upholding the highest service levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading, coordinating, supporting, motivating, training, and evaluating restaurant and bar staff to ensure peak performance.
- Monitoring and ensuring beverage and dining service consistently meets the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Ensuring meticulous hygiene and maintenance across all service areas, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
- Taking responsibility for ordering, managing margins, handling POS transactions, and implementing robust cost and stock control measures.
- Effectively handling and resolving travelers' concerns, ensuring guest satisfaction and loyalty.
- Performing any other duties as advised by the Hotel Manager to ensure smooth operations.
Skills and Qualifications
- A hotel school diploma or equivalent basic education is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar desired position, preferably on a passenger ship or in a 4 or 5-star restaurant and/or hotel environment.
- Cruise ship experience is a significant advantage.
- Proven leadership abilities coupled with excellent communication skills are essential.
- A strong guest orientation, dedicated to providing outstanding customer service.
- Good knowledge and understanding of diverse bar and restaurant menus.
- Demonstrated team-leading skills, capable of fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Strong organizational and computer skills for efficient management.
- Fluency in English is required for effective communication with international clientele and crew.
- Eligibility to work in the EU.
