Job Description
Social Media and Marketing Specialist
Antioch University's Graduate School of Leadership and Change is seeking a dedicated Social Media and Marketing Specialist for its MFA in Creative Writing department. This work-study position offers a unique opportunity to shape the digital presence of a vibrant literary community, working remotely and flexibly from February 6, 2026, to June 30, 2026. You will play a crucial role in developing and executing social media strategies, engaging with the MFA community, and promoting program activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with MFA team members to develop a comprehensive social media plan for the Creative Writing department. (1 hour/week)
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within the MFA community by monitoring and promoting their publications, accomplishments, and other activities across various social media platforms. (2 hours/week)
- Generate compelling daily content designed to foster meaningful connections and encourage active engagement among community members. (10 hours/week)
- Announce MFA-related activities, essential information, and important announcements on social media as required. (4 hours/week)
- Collaborate effectively with Antioch Marketing and other MFA team members, including the Newsletter Editor, to create cohesive and impactful content. (1 hour/week)
- Innovate and propose new marketing and social media initiatives to generate interest in Antioch's MFA program and its community. (2 hours/week)
Qualifications
- Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrable social networking experience.
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn new platforms and tools, including Canva for graphics and Buffer for post scheduling, in addition to common social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
- Professional interest and engagement in the literary community will be highly beneficial.
