What You Will Be Working On

As a Data Scientist, AI Practice, you will identify data exploitation opportunities through in-depth conversations with business stakeholders. You will scope data science projects/products with clear, actionable, and impactful deliverables, executing them in close iteration with stakeholders.

This role demands strong data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills to engage stakeholders on business use cases, identify appropriate data science techniques, and deliver sound solutions influencing actionable outcomes.

• Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to understand business challenges, sharpen use cases, and translate them into data science projects/products.
• Perform data cleaning, pre-processing, feature engineering, and build data science models/products to address the use case.
• Present findings, solicit feedback, and prioritize refinements in close iteration with stakeholders while managing overall project timelines.
• Communicate data insights and business impact of projects/products clearly and compellingly, supported by impactful visuals, to influence key decision-makers.
• Depending on the use case, design of dashboards and interactive visualizations as tools for data exploration and storytelling may be expected.
• Depending on the use case, operationalize the use case by using existing MLOps platforms to deploy and monitor machine learning models.
• Opportunity to be deployed to another government agency as part of the core data science team for 2-3 years, building data science capabilities, formulating and implementing strategies for impactful projects, and deploying products into production systems.

What We Are Looking For

• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Social Science, or related disciplines. Relevant certifications are also considered.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in data science and/or the public sector.
• Capable of translating business use cases into analytical problems and identifying appropriate data sources.
• Proficient in writing scripts for data preparation and analysis, using modern analysis tools & programming methodologies.
• Proficient in cleaning, imputing, and correcting anomalies in collected structured or unstructured data to ensure high-quality datasets.
• Proficient in exploring and analyzing datasets, applying probability and statistical methodologies and techniques to discover insights.
• Proficient in building machine learning models to identify patterns and make predictions.
• Proficient in design principles and use of visualizations to best convey information.
• Capable of developing data visualization from standalone graphs/charts to customized tools/apps tightly integrated for real-time visualization.
• Capable of translating results from analysis work into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Capable of communicating results and business impact in a coherent data story for stakeholders.
• Have a passion for improving public service and delivering public good using analytics and data.
