Overview

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a Program Specialist and Compliance Officer to provide specialized program administrative and compliance work for the regulation of the provincial mortgage regulatory framework. Based in Halifax, this permanent full-time role supports the Senior Policy Analyst for Mortgage by managing compliance programs and delivering expert analysis and evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and implement compliance programs for consumer and business complaints.
  • Conduct business analysis, program evaluations and policy recommendations.
  • Inspect and monitor compliance activities including site visits and investigations.
  • Manage risk assessments and provide detailed reports on findings.
  • Advise on complex financial and consumer complaints in accordance with legislation.
  • Develop internal and external communications with stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must hold a post-secondary degree with five years of progressive experience in a related field. A finance or accounting degree is an asset. Proven experience in supporting complex compliance programs, working in a financial business environment, and independently implementing program processes is required.
