Job Overview
The Government of Alberta is seeking a Community and Police Commission Engagement Advisor to support and lead engagement with diverse communities, police commissions, Indigenous organizations, and other community partners. This permanent full-time role is part of the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services and can be based in either Edmonton or Calgary.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead stakeholder engagement with diverse communities and police commissions.
- Represent the Police Review Commission at events and meetings.
- Develop strategic engagement plans and content including briefing notes, reports, and training materials.
- Provide strategic advice, monitoring community concerns, and contributing policy recommendations.
- Champion equity, diversity, inclusion and act as acting manager when required.
Qualifications
A university degree in Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Public Administration, Communications, or Conflict Resolution is required along with at least 4 years of related experience. The role demands high political acumen, knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, and a Class 5 driver's licence.
