Operations Research Analyst Data Scientist
GovCIO is seeking an Operations Research Analyst / Data Scientist to support database development, data configuration, data analytics, and reporting activities for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This role is integral to an interconnected reporting and analytics team, focusing on extracting, configuring, and analyzing data to generate real-time metrics, tasking responses, and critical information to support the ICE mission. This is a fully remote position.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective data management to enable complex analytics from systems like Oracle, Databricks, AWS, and ServiceNow.
- Align data with analytic tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik Dashboards.
- Facilitate client needs, identify issues, perform gap analysis, and recommend data system solutions.
- Conduct trade-off analyses on technical solutions to determine optimal tools and methodologies for complex data requests.
- Create project deliverables and artifacts to ensure adherence to team compliance and quality standards.
- Assess project and business process effectiveness using source data.
- Collaborate with team members to analyze requirement changes and recommend timely solutions.
- Enable end-user data and metric visibility through dashboard creation and dissemination.
- Leverage advanced analytics to translate complex issues from multiple sources into clear insights for leadership.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of work experience (2 years may be waived for a Master’s degree).
- 2+ years of experience in data exploration, cleaning, visualization, and data analytics.
- 2+ years of experience with data visualization tools like Qlik or Power BI.

- Experience with distributed data and computing tools including Databricks.
