Overview

GovCIO is hiring for a Senior DevOps Engineer AWS with DevSecOps experience. You will provide development, support, architecture, and leadership for a government application migrating to the AWS cloud. This role is fully remote with a base in Alexandria, Virginia.

Responsibilities

This role involves both hands-on coding and architectural design. The candidate will build applications using Java, Angular, and AWS and manage patches, upgrades, and disaster recovery processes.

  • Participate in all AWS solution development lifecycle stages.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and document fixes.
  • Educate teams and lead technical workshops on cloud initiatives.
  • Create blueprints for hybrid cloud infrastructures and advise on architecture.
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Terraform, and similar tools.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, with 8+ years of experience in solutions design and AWS cloud engineering. Must be proficient in Java, AWS tools, CI/CD, Linux environments, and automation technologies.
