About the Vice President, Security Engineering, Google Cloud Role at Google

In this role, you will lead a critical security engineering organization that spans Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Workspace, and our Technical Infrastructure. Your team will be responsible for product security engineering, incident response, vulnerability management, security engineering standards, and fraud and abuse prevention.

The US base salary for this full-time position is $550,000, complemented by bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Individual compensation is influenced by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in security engineering, with 8 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams.
- Experience as a senior leader or equivalent at a technology or cloud company.
- Domain experience in two of the following areas: product security, incident response, vulnerability management, security engineering, or fraud and abuse.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead and influence in a large, cross-functional environment.
- Ability to build relationships and lead through influence, both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to provide detailed technical guidance to the team, enabling them to execute more effectively and deliver products on time and within budget.
- Ability to inspire and motivate the team to work together toward a technical vision.
- Passion for technology and technical depth to uncover root causes of complex technical problems and provide guidance on solving them.
Responsibilities
- Set and drive security engineering strategy with Google Cloud leadership.
- Build relationships and partner with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance to the Security engineering team.
- Support growth in all Google Cloud's business, products, and geographies, including supporting AI-driven innovation and growth.
- Support customers and their secure digital transformations to Cloud and AI adoption.
- Work with teams across Google that provide critical services to achieve security outcomes for Google Cloud.
- Lead teams dedicated to Google Cloud Security Engineering.
