About the UX Designer, Trust and Safety UX Role at Google

Your work will span the entire design process, from crafting user flows and wireframes to developing high-fidelity mockups and prototypes, envisioning and bringing to life inspired and refined product experiences.
The Google User Experience (UX) team is a multidisciplinary group comprising UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers, all deeply committed to the people who use Google's products. This team is crucial in gathering insights into user attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inform and inspire design. Collaboration is key, as the team works closely with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver significant value to both users and Google's businesses.
As an Interaction Designer, you will employ user-centered design methodologies to create exceptional user experiences from initial concept to final execution. You will collaborate with design partners to leverage and evolve Google's design language, building beautiful, innovative, and beloved products.
Specifically, as a UX Designer on the Trust and Safety UX team, your role involves leading the design of systemic solutions that effectively balance intricate global policies with seamless user experiences. You will be instrumental in architecting 'safety by design' frameworks, developing novel and dynamic reporting methods, and building platforms that ensure critical information is both accessible and actionable.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and deliver creative, thoughtful solutions.
- Communicate the user experience effectively at various stages using wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Lead design strategy for complex product areas, working with partners to set long-term goals and integrate design as a core driver of the product roadmap.
- Create dynamic and adaptable reporting methods for users, ensuring systems evolve with changing global requirements and user needs.
- Drive design excellence and consistency by developing scalable frameworks and patterns for consistent user-centricity across teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
- A portfolio, website, or other relevant work link included in your resume.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience within a complex, cross-functional organization.
- Experience leading design for complex systems, data-heavy workflows, internal tools, or integrated platforms.
- Experience in Trust and Safety, Privacy, or Legal Tech, particularly designing for sensitive areas like content moderation or regulatory compliance.
- Expertise in AI-augmented design processes, including Generative AI for prototyping or AI-driven usability testing.
