About the UX Designer Role

Google User Experience (UX) comprises multi-disciplinary teams including Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers, all deeply committed to understanding product users. The UX team plays a vital role in gathering insights into user attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inform and inspire design. Collaboration is key, working closely with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value to users and Google’s businesses.
You will leverage user-centered design methods to craft exceptional user experiences from concept to execution. Collaborating with design partners, you’ll evolve and apply the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products that users love. Google's Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences, researching, designing, and developing new technologies and hardware to make user interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver creative, thoughtful solutions.
- Communicate the user experience throughout various design process stages using wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and/or high-fidelity prototypes.
- Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
- Advocate for the prioritization of design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
- A portfolio, website, or other relevant work link included in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.
- 1 year of experience leading design projects.
