As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.
The Play Store is the largest app distribution platform in the world with over billions of users around the world. Play Ads is a fast-growing part of the Play Store organization aiming to serve relevant, engaging ad experiences.
In this role, you will help shape the roadmap with cross-functional partners, to craft out the best design solutions for both our users, developers and the business, and to ensure visual finesse and product excellence.
Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end interaction and visual design for features through early exploration and visioning, detailed designs, prototyping and specs.
- Communicate your design rationale and present at design meetings and reviews with leadership.
- Collaborate with the rest of the Play team (Framework, Search, Apps, Games, etc.) and other partner teams (Ads) across Google.
- Leverage creative assets to think of innovative ways to stretch and extend solutions.
- Work as a strategic partner with PM & Eng in the Play & Ads organizations, balancing short term and long term goals and launching polished products.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
- Experience designing for mobile (Android) and other device form factors.

Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
