About The Job

At Google, we follow a simple but vital premise: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Google’s Visual Designers weave space, typography, color, iconography, and texture together to help people successfully navigate our products. We believe that all of our products should be beautiful and accessible.

Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers: we care deeply about the people who use our products. The UX team plays an integral part in gathering insights about the behaviors and perceptions of people who use our products to inspire and inform design. We collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for the people who use them, and for Google’s businesses.

As a UX Design Patterns and Productivity Specialist, you’ll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution. Like all of our UX jobs, you’ll collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

In this role, you will drive initiatives to reduce friction for designers when incorporating patterned solutions into their workflows, and collaborate with engineering to improve production-facing code. You will navigate stakeholder networks across UX, engineering, and product management to mature the team's use of design patterns and systems.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerate the adoption of search design system tokens, patterns, and components within the Ads UI and SAGE UX teams.
  • Identify and deliver solutions that reduce friction for designers when incorporating patterned design solutions into their daily workflows.
  • Document, analyze, and propose initiatives that improve design productivity and accelerate project delivery through the better application of design systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering partners to identify and drive iterative quality improvements in production-facing code.
  • Navigate and manage stakeholder networks, including internal UX feature teams, engineering, product management, and partners within Search.
