Job Description

Technical Program Manager, YouTube, Studio Foundations at Google

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in project planning, project execution, risk management and stakeholder management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in delivering technical infrastructure or migration programs.
  • Experience anticipating risks and proposing solutions before they become blockers.
  • Ability to work with distributed systems, backend APIs, and mobile/web serving stacks.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive end-to-end execution of large-scale infrastructure shifts, such as the CoW migration (Client-only Wiz) or client unification, ensuring zero-downtime and seamless developer adoption.
  • Identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks in our release pipelines and tooling, making GenAI feature development simple.
  • Apply deep technical understanding to evaluate trade-offs between legacy systems and modern architectures like Video Scheduler.
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.
