Job Description

About The Job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Elevate your impact at Google Public Sector by taking a pivotal role in transforming how Department of Defense customers leverage Google Cloud solutions.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will orchestrate technical engagements that drive significant value and enhance constituent experiences.

In this role, you will provide program oversight and thought leadership, collaborating with cross-functional Google stakeholders, sales teams, and technical leaders like CTOs and CIOs. You will lead initiatives involving numerous team members to ensure the successful deployment of innovative Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions, including advanced AI capabilities.

You will operate with high autonomy and trust, taking ownership to drive outcomes through clear strategic intent. You will grow in an environment that values decentralized decision-making, empowering teams, fostering a culture of transparency and continuous learning.

You will have a unique opportunity to shape public sector technology and create a lasting, positive impact within the DoD space.

Google Public Sector brings the magic of Google to the mission of government and education with solutions purpose-built for enterprises. We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and delivery of Department of Defense (DoD) engagements, ensuring successful management of Google Cloud’s Workspace of products, including Cloud, Infrastructure, and AI.
  • Partner with engineering, Go-to-Market (GTM) teams, and partners to guarantee seamless product delivery and successful technology implementation.
  • Navigate complex interactions across geographically dispersed teams, leveraging strong communication and investigative skills to execute mission-critical projects. Travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Lead cloud and air-gapped project delivery and technology reviews, applying technical acumen to build consensus and optimize infrastructure, application, and AI deployments.
  • Provide technical goals for customer engagements, guiding solution planning, evaluating data, and directing decision-making to ensure architectural direction.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in compliance, information security, IT audit, or risk management in the U.S. Federal Government Assessment and Authorization process.
  • Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information security clearance.

Preferred qualifications

  • Certifications in Google Professional Cloud Architect and Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with cloud AI offerings and technologies (e.g., GCP, Google Distributed Cloud, or Google Cloud's AI).
  • Experience working within the Department of Defense or National Security sector.
