As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As the Technical Program Manager, you will lead multi-disciplinary engineering projects using engineering knowledge. You will plan requirements with internal customers and lead projects through the entire project life-cycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks, and communicating to project stakeholders.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.
  • Build, maintain and enhance business, operational, and management dashboards.
  • Manage the portfolio planning and prioritization.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams, drive roadmap/OKR planning, milestones, and software schedules.
  • Design processes and introduce governance to reduce complexity, accelerate team workflow and delivery, improve communication, and accelerate decision making.
  • Drive alignment across teams to reach consensus on product direction, metrics, engineering scope/feasibility, etc.
  • Drive innovation and manage technical dependencies across the stack.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.

Preferred qualifications

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working within the gaming industry or with large language models (LLMs), DeepMind, AI technologies.
  • Experience with product release.
  • Ability to produce frameworks and documents that communicate status, scope, timelines, task planning, action items, risks, issues, project dependencies, test planning, or rollout planning.
  • Ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
