As a Technical Program Manager, Edge Network Operations at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience managing technical projects in a changing industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a network operations or design, Network SRE, or similar environment, specifically with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking products and infrastructure.
- A deep understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, optical networking, and CDN.
- Proven ability to develop technical analyses, tools, and processes that enhance engineering execution, excellence, and velocity.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, break down complex problems into actionable plans, and exhibit independent problem-solving leadership.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with prior experience collaborating effectively with executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive ambiguous and technical programs within the Edge Network Operations (ENO) team, focusing on initiatives such as next-generation network automation, tooling development, major platform migrations, and operational transformation.
- Take charge of scoping, shaping, and managing programs, co-developing program strategies, goals, priorities, and success metrics in partnership with the wider team and relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and meticulously maintain project plans, establishing robust mechanisms for continuous monitoring and review of program performance.
- Conduct thorough technical due diligence to accurately evaluate engineering scope, establish critical milestones, define realistic timeframes, and determine necessary engineering resourcing.
- Cultivate effective cross-functional program teams by guiding alignment on shared goals and strategic direction, thereby ensuring highly efficient ways of working.
