Strategy and Operations Lead, Search Platforms at Google
Product and Business Strategy Leaders at Google bring together teams across various functions to ensure optimal product execution. This team helps Google scale by refining products and infrastructure through efficient execution, sound business judgment, and effective cross-organizational collaboration.
Our roles often encompass elements of strategy (e.g., analyzing industry trends, building business plans), operations (e.g., managing organizational cadence, connecting functional operating lines), and communications. We partner with senior leadership to manage critical cross-cutting functions and deliver high-impact projects. Our goal is to empower Engineers, PMs, UX, and other functions to build exceptional products that delight users and successfully bring them to market.
As the Strategy and Operations Lead, Search Platforms for the Chief of Staff Team within Google Search, you will be instrumental in transforming our ambitious product vision into concrete execution. You will ensure operational excellence and amplify our core product narrative. Serving as a crucial partner to product leadership, you will help shape product priorities, optimize our operational cadence, and ensure seamless integration of our product strategy across all functions.
In this high-visibility role, you will leverage your operational management, problem-solving capabilities, and exceptional communication skills. Your responsibilities will include refining our product story, streamlining cross-functional alignment for product launches, and directing leadership focus towards the highest-leverage product opportunities. Responsibilities
- Drive strategic planning and execution across the organization, translating objectives into actionable plans for Search Platforms.
- Analyze data to derive insights, inform decisions, and track key performance indicators for leadership.
- Support executive leadership on strategic insights.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and on-scope delivery.
- Enhance efficiency by designing and optimizing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and streamlining workflows.
- Manage the organization's business cadence, ensuring fast decision-making and alignment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
- Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple projects.
- Experience with product strategy and planning.
- Experience with change management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams.
- Experience working in or closely with platform engineering organizations.
- Experience with headcount tracking and budget operations.
