About the Role: Staff Interaction Designer at Google

As a Staff Interaction Designer, you will translate complex tasks into intuitive, user-friendly experiences for billions globally. Your work will span the entire design process, from crafting user flows and wireframes to developing user interface mockups and prototypes, bringing innovative and refined product visions to life.

Google User Experience (UX) is a collaborative environment comprising multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. We are deeply committed to understanding and advocating for our users. The UX team is instrumental in gathering insights into user attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inspire and inform design decisions. You will work closely with engineering and product management teams to create industry-leading products that deliver significant value to users and contribute to Google's business success.

As a Staff Interaction Designer, you will leverage user-centered design methodologies to create exceptional user experiences, from initial concept through to final execution. You will collaborate with design partners to evolve and apply the Google design language, developing beautiful, innovative, and beloved products.

Responsibilities

• Influence and gain support from cross-functional stakeholders for design strategies.
• Drive the development of comprehensive design solutions addressing user, product, and business challenges.
• Lead the adoption and evolution of a holistic design process, design system, or design language across various teams or products.
• Develop design solutions grounded in user insights, business requirements, and industry trends to achieve strategic business outcomes.
• Provide expert direction to other UX designers in creating design concepts for product ideation, user research, and testing initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
• Experience designing across multiple platforms and collaborating with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, user interface mockups, and prototypes.
• A portfolio, website, or other relevant link to your work must be included in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of experience working with executive leaders.
• Experience designing for AI-powered systems, automation, or other agentic technologies to build user trust.
• Experience in setting ideas and strategy for enterprise or B2B platforms, including those involving AI/automation and trust-building design issues.
