As a Software Engineer, Trust and Safety, Tech Enablement, you will work on projects critical to Google’s mission, with opportunities to evolve your role as the business grows. We seek versatile engineers who demonstrate leadership and enthusiasm for tackling new problems across the full stack.

The Trust and Safety (T&S) team is dedicated to fostering trust in Google and ensuring user safety by proactively identifying and mitigating potential harms across all Google products and services. This global team of experts, including technical analysts, data scientists, policy specialists, and data engineers, collaborates cross-functionally to defend Google's platforms, ensuring the safety and security of billions of users, developers, creators, advertisers, and customers. We drive responsible innovation and lead the industry in fighting abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Scope, design, test, and deploy new features and components leveraging AI to automate and enhance T&S operations, scaling user protection impact.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure a high-quality user experience.
  • Work across the stack, from building AI models and performing experiments to improving quality, and developing infrastructure and tools.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to solve ambiguous, challenging, and impactful problems at the intersection of technology, automation, user protection, and AI.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback from peers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 5 years of experience in software engineering or related technical fields.
  • 3 years of experience debugging issues relating to hardware, test setup, firmware, and software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience with abuse detection.
  • 3 years of experience with AI algorithms.
  • Experience with Generative AI.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply them to complex issues.
